Dressing up your diesel truck doesn’t have to stop with chrome wheels and trim. You can deck her out from stem to stern, and cap off those sharp looks with chrome engine exhaust tips. Thanks to several custom parts manufacturers, diesel truck owners no longer have to feel left out when it comes to adding that custom look to their exhaust pipes.
MBRP offers a line of diesel exhaust parts in black, chrome or stainless finish, for the Big Three’s diesel lines – Cummins, Powerstroke and Duramax. Exhaust tips come in diameters of 4” and 5”, and 18” length monster tips are also available. MBRP exhaust tips with a 4”inlet and 5” exit in chrome finish, retail for as low as $49.99.
The Ansa Silverline series comes in stainless and aluminized steel, and is designed for a universal fit on all available exhaust systems. Their diesel double-wall exhaust tip in black stainless finsh and 4” inlet diameter can be purchased for around $80.00.
MagnaFlow offers a line of 100% stainless steel exhaust tips for diesel trucks which they claim will last five times longer than their chrome equivalents, and come with a lifetime warranty. The 4” single-exhaust Pro Series tip for the 2011 Chevy Duramax retails for about $500.00.
Installation of exhaust tips is a snap. They are designed as a bolt-on unit, so that they are simply slid over the existing exhaust pipe and are clamped down with the included hardware for a sure, firm fit – and of course a cool, sharp look – on your diesel.
