Petrolium refiners are cutting back on fuel production because of lower demand by consumers, the result of this? That’s right… higher fuel prices are expected. At the same time, biodiesel prices are expected to continue their upward swing in pricing due in part to the rising costs of soybean, biodiesel’s main ingredient. Looking at this, there are no easy answers as to which fuel is the best bang for your buck.
Advances in engine performance technologies may one day provide answers to these issues. California based company Transonic Combustion’s, TSCi Fuel Injection system will offer drivers greater fuel efficiency with a decreased carbon footprint. The company also claims the system will outperform its hybrid competition. Without signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement, the only real technical aspect that has been released is: “by utilizing supercritical state fuel, TSCi Fuel Injection achieves lean combustion and ultra-high efficiency by operating on modern high compression engines, incorporating precise ignition timing and carefully minimized waste heat generation.” Many eagerly await a more detailed report on this upcoming technology.
